Location: London, Ontario and surrounding area
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Crew Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Labourer to support painting and home renovation projects. The successful candidate will assist skilled tradespeople and painters with job-site preparation, painting, demolition, material handling, cleanup, and general renovation duties.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in completing quality work, and is willing to learn new skills. Previous construction, renovation, or painting experience is an asset but may not be required for a candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare work areas for painting and renovation projects, including moving or covering furniture and protecting floors and surfaces.
  • Assist with surface preparation such as sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and cleaning walls and trim.
  • Assist with interior and exterior painting, including rolling, brushing, and basic touch-ups as directed.
  • Support renovation work such as demolition, removal of old materials, drywall preparation, flooring removal, and other general tasks.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize tools, equipment, paint, construction materials, and supplies.
  • Measure and assist with cutting materials under the direction of experienced team members.
  • Set up and clean up job sites at the beginning and end of each workday.
  • Remove construction debris and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely after receiving appropriate instruction.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow instructions from the crew lead, supervisor, painters, and skilled tradespeople.
  • Work respectfully and professionally in customers' homes and on occupied properties.
  • Perform other general labour and renovation duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in painting, construction, renovations, general labour, or a related field is an asset.
  • Entry-level candidates who are reliable and willing to learn may be considered.
  • Comfortable performing physically active work throughout the day.
  • Able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and construction materials safely.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and performing tasks that require bending, standing, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive movement.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a crew.
  • Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Attention to detail and respect for customers' homes and property.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is an asset.
  • Awareness of construction and job-site safety practices is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be an asset depending on job-site locations.

Working Conditions
