Tasks

Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for germination

Direct agricultural crops clipping activities

Direct greenhouse and nursery operations

Greenhouse cleaning

Mixing fertilizer

Organize greenhouse and nursery operations

Weeding

Control reported insect, disease and weed problems

Determine type and quantity of stock to grow

Develop marketing plans

Establish and maintain required environment

Establish work schedules

Order materials and stock

Provide product care and other information and service to customers

Supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding and spraying

Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings

Pot and re-pot plants

Plant bulbs and seeds

Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops

Mix and prepare soils

Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants

Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products

Clean the crops

Supervision

First Aid Certificate

Forklift Operator Certification

Provincial licence/certification to apply chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides
