Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Production Sewer / Industrial Sewer to join our production team in London, Ontario. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and takes pride in producing high-quality garments with accuracy and consistency.
Our production floor operates using both bundle production and Toyota Production System (Lean Manufacturing) methods. We are looking for individuals who not only excel in technical sewing but also contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, workflow efficiency, and lean manufacturing systems within our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines, including single-needle, double-needle, serger, and coverstitch.
- Sew garments and components according to production specifications and technical packages.
- Ensure precision, quality, and consistency across all sewn products.
- Follow established production timelines and efficiency targets.
- Work within both bundle and Toyota-style (lean) production systems to support balanced workflow and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations and suggest efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with the sewing team, quality control, and production management to resolve issues quickly.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and report mechanical or quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial or apparel manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical sewing skills and familiarity with a range of industrial machines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to read and follow patterns, markers, and production instructions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability in meeting production goals.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes and contribute to lean initiatives.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and garment types.
Preferred Assets
- Experience with small-batch, sustainable, or technical garment production.
- Knowledge of specialty machinery (bar tack, walking foot, flatlock).
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and production efficiency tracking.
- Experience supporting process improvement projects or training initiatives.
