Job Posting: Kitchen Assistant (Prep & Delivery Support)

Location: Marshalls Pasta, London, Ontario

Wage: $17.30/hour

Hours: 15–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9AM-2PM

We’re a locally loved kitchen in London, ON, and we're currently hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support with prep work, kitchen tasks, and occasional deliveries. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced food production environment and doesn’t mind early mornings.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Preparing ingredients (cutting vegetables, portioning, etc.)

• Supporting the kitchen team in various duties as needed

• Assisting with packaging meals for delivery

• Occasionally delivering orders (valid license and reliable transport preferred)

• Keeping the kitchen clean and organized

• Following food safety standards and kitchen procedures

• Some heavy lifting required

• Hot and cool temparature work- loading coolers and catering boxes in company car for delivery  

Schedule & Conditions:

• Shifts range between 15 to 30 hours weekly

• Some shifts depending on business needs could start as early as 6:00 AM

• Transit accessible, but not always reliable—personal transportation preferred

• Work involves standing for extended periods and some heavy lifting

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs to waist height and move it across short distances

• Comfortable working in cold (below 18°C in freezer) and hot kitchen environments

• Manual dexterity for cutting, prepping, and handling kitchen tools

• Ability to stay active throughout the shift and respond in a busy, noisy setting

What We’re Looking For:

• Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)

• Able to work within restaurant operating hours, based on your availability

• Food Handler Certification is a plus

• Reliable transportation to and from work

• Comfortable with basic math for portioning and prep

• Prior kitchen experience or culinary education is an asset

• Willingness to step into various roles as needed in the kitchen
