We are pleased to share a new employment opportunity available with a newly opened restaurant, The Bread Bowl Inc., in London. They are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to support their day-to-day deli and kitchen operations.

This position would be a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining kitchen experience, developing food preparation skills, and working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will receive training and ongoing support from the owner and kitchen manager.

Position: Part-Time Kitchen Assistant

Location: 354 Wellington St., Suite B, London, ON
Wage: $17.60/hour + gratuities from catering events
Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on catering orders and events

Deli Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

• Some early morning shifts may be required (starting as early as 8:00 a.m.) for food preparation, cleaning, and kitchen setup.

• The deli is currently closed on weekends; however, occasional Sunday prep shifts may be scheduled to prepare for the upcoming week.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Basic food preparation

• Knife skills, including slicing and dicing

• Preparing sandwiches, soups, and salads

• Slicing meats and cheeses

• Preparing and assembling catering orders

• Maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness

• Following kitchen hygiene and food safety practices

• Washing dishes and supporting daily kitchen operations

• Using basic kitchen appliances and equipment

• Supporting front-of-house operations, including taking and fulfilling in-person and online orders (cross-training opportunities available)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Reliable and dependable work ethic

• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is an asset

• Food Handler Certification is preferred

• Willingness to learn and receive training
