Medical Office Assistant Role- London, ON

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position is ideal for internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) who have prior clinical experience and are looking to integrate into the Canadian healthcare system. The MOA will provide administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients, manage appointments, and maintain patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.

• Perform patient intake, including updating medical histories and verifying insurance coverage.

• Assist healthcare providers with administrative and clinical tasks such as preparing charts, scheduling tests, and following up on results.

• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and external providers to coordinate care.

• Process billing, insurance claims, and manage medical office documentation.

• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Internationally educated healthcare professional (IEHP/IMG) with clinical experience (e.g., physician, nurse, or allied health background).

• Post-secondary education in healthcare or medical office administration is an asset.

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Eligibility to work in Canada (PR, citizen, or valid work permit).

• Knowledge of Indian languages (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali) is an asset.
