Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for growing KGK’s social media presence and expanding the participant database to support and accelerate clinical trial recruitment. The primary goal of this role is to increase followers across all social media platforms and build a robust, engaged audience that can be mobilized for ongoing and upcoming clinical trial campaigns. Through compelling content creation, targeted outreach, and community engagement, the Coordinator will raise awareness of KGK’s research studies and drive qualified participant leads into the recruitment pipeline.
Qualifications
Required Education:
College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered
Required Experience:
0–2 years of professional social media, digital marketing, or content creation experience
Demonstrated experience growing a social media account or online community (brand, student organization, or personal channel accepted)
Experience in healthcare, clinical research, or life sciences is an asset
Roles and Responsibilities
The following duties are required for this position:
Follower Growth & Audience Development
- Develop and execute strategies to grow KGK’s follower count across Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Identify and target audience segments likely to qualify for current or future clinical trials
- Build and maintain a growing participant database by converting social media followers into registered leads through calls-to-action, sign-up campaigns, and landing pages
- Monitor follower growth metrics and report on progress toward database and recruitment targets on a weekly and monthly basis
Clinical Trial Promotion
- Create and publish engaging content to promote ongoing and upcoming KGK clinical trials, including study summaries, eligibility highlights, testimonials, and awareness campaigns
- Collaborate with clinical and regulatory teams to ensure all trial-related content is accurate, compliant, and appropriately approved prior to publication
- Maintain an up-to-date content calendar reflecting recruitment timelines and study launch dates
- Support paid social advertising campaigns aimed at boosting trial visibility and participant sign-ups
Content Creation & Scheduling
- Draft, design, and schedule posts across all platforms using scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later)
- Create on-brand graphics, short-form video clips, and written copy using tools such as Canva or Adobe Express
- Adapt content formats and sizing to meet each platform’s specifications
Community Management
- Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions daily; respond in a timely, accurate, and on-brand manner
- Escalate participant inquiries, clinical questions, or sensitive issues to the appropriate internal team
- Identify and engage with user-generated content, advocates, and community members interested in clinical research participation
Analytics & Reporting
- Pull and analyze weekly/monthly performance reports (reach, engagement, follower growth, click-throughs, and lead conversions)
- Track participant database growth and report on recruitment pipeline contributions from social media channels
- Surface actionable insights to optimize content strategy and improve recruitment outcomes
- Monitor competitor and peer organization accounts to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with the recruitment, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs teams to align social media campaigns with active study timelines and compliance requirements
- Support outreach to influencers, health advocates, and community partners to amplify clinical trial awareness
- Attend departmental and project meetings as needed
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required
Required Skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for grammar, tone, and brand voice
- Proven ability to grow and engage social media audiences with measurable results
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including clinical and regulatory stakeholders
- Creative thinking balanced with analytical ability to interpret performance data and adjust strategy accordingly
Technical skills (required):
- Working knowledge of major social platforms and their native tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Studio, LinkedIn Campaign Manager)
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, or equivalent)
- Basic graphic design ability using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools
- Comfort interpreting social analytics and translating data into plain-language performance summaries
Technical skills (asset):
- Short-form video production or editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of basic SEO and hashtag strategy
- Experience with CRM or participant database tools
- Photography or videography skills
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
