Summer student recruitment

Operations

The Operations team deals directly with people who’ve been injured or becomes ill because of work. We provide our customers with the best possible service through claim adjudication, ensuring payment, return-to-work services, and managing access to health services.

Employer Services

Our Employer Services team focuses on our business customers. Our goal is to help people to register their business, report and pay premiums and to reduce injuries and illness in their workplace. This team includes Employer Account Services, Corporate Compliance and Workplace Health and Safety Services. This team promotes and encourages employers to create healthier and safer Ontario workplaces.

Corporate Services and Technology

This team includes customer experience and digital programs, data analytics and reporting, as well as our vendor and supply management. The Information Technology team manages and supports the applications, systems, devices, and networks used by all of us here at the WSIB. This team also partners with other business areas to develop and launch digital solutions to support our business processes.

Finance

Finance is responsible for the financial health and stewardship of the WSIB, and accountable for the funds required to support injured and ill people in their recovery and return to work. We are comprised of Financial Planning and Operations, Financial Reporting and Controllership, Financial Systems and Administration, Actuarial Services, Internal Audit and Investment and Pension Administration.

People

The People team provides comprehensive human resources advice and services to the organization, enabling strategic business outcomes through our people. The division’s work is directed by the Strategic Plan and the aligned People Plan, both of which guide us as we transform into an agile, customer-centric organization. People also delivers a range of operational services to team WSIB, including communications and change management, translation services, talent acquisition, job classification and compensation, disability management and mental health services.

Governance

The Governance team supports, educates and champions effective governance across the WSIB. Through continuous assessment and improvement, the team strives to uphold quality decision-making, transparency, and accountability at the WSIB, while cultivating a collaborative and supportive culture that embraces rigorous frameworks that contribute to business value delivery and benefit realization through to portfolio governance and execution. The Legal Services division works to advance our service commitment and to maximize the value it provides to the WSIB. The team works together with our people to support risk intelligent decision-making and to ensure that we act in ways that are legal, ethical and reputable.

Strategy and Risk

The Strategy and Risk team acts as the strategic driver for the WSIB. The team helps improve internal decision-making and reporting and informing enterprise-wide decisions. The Strategy and Risk team includes real estate and facilities management and is also responsible for leading management teams and our Board of Directors through the risks and opportunities.

Professional Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants must be:
o Legally authorized to work in Canada.
o Must currently be a post-secondary student who is enrolled as a full-time, post-secondary student in a recognized institution in September 2025.
o Applicants may also apply to the position if they are within 6 months of their graduation date.
o Final year students will need to provide proof of enrollment for their last semester.
o Available to work for the entire duration of the summer (May 5, 2025 – August 29, 2025)

o Proof of enrollment for the September 2024 and/or 2025 school year
o Fourth year students will need to provide proof of enrollment for their last semester
