R&D Technician Intern

We seek an R&D Technician Intern to assist in maintaining and optimizing the life cycle of crickets
while upholding Aspire’s quality and safety standards. This role includes tasks such as laying, hatching,
feeding, watering, and harvesting insects, as well as data collection and management. The intern also
supports facility cleaning and other tasks as needed.

SHIFT STRUCTURE
● Monday to Friday, 45 hour work week.

LOCATION: 2450 Innovation Drive, London, ON N6M 0C5
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Perform general cricket-rearing duties.
● Work with live insects.
● Collect and record animal husbandry data accurately.
● Clean and organize the facility.
● Assist in maintaining environmental controls.
● Provide general support and participate in projects as needed.
● Support facility and organizational sustainability efforts.

REQUIREMENTS
● Must be a student from Western University working towards a degree in Science.
● Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs with minimal assistance.
● Ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs, access low and tight spaces, and navigate narrow
aisles.
● Ability to work, often standing, for at least two hours without a significant break.
● Ability to handle and clean containers at varying heights.
● Tolerance for labor in warm and humid conditions.
● Punctuality and reliable transportation.
● Ownership of a smartphone with the ability to use phone applications.
● Strong attention to detail.
